
Sage Hill honored several student-athletes as they signed their national letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level on Apr. 14. Family, friends, and coaches gathered in Town Square to recognize the dedication and hard work that have led to this moment. Supporting the positive environment at Sage Hill, these athletes celebrated their transition to the next level.
Cameron Liu committed to Amherst College for hockey after years of dedication. As a young goalie in Taiwan, where opportunities to play hockey were limited, especially for girls, Liu noted, “It was not easy in the beginning.” However, Liu poured “blood, sweat, and tears” to get to the collegiate level.
Liu performed at a high level on her hockey team, motivating the team with her competitiveness. Her leadership on and off the ice sets a standard for younger athletes to follow in her footsteps. After Liu officially committed, she stated, “I step into this new chapter of my career confidently knowing I have the tools equipped to confront any challenges I may face in life.”
Ethan Hicks committed to Cornell University to row, after years of balancing athletic performance with rigorous academics. Applause erupted throughout the crowd as he signed his letter, marking the beginning of his collegiate career. Hicks plans to major in Biological Science in Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS).
Alyssa Cuff committed to Michigan State University to row and plans to major in business administration. A multi-sport athlete, Cuff helped lead Sage Hill’s basketball team to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Southern California Regional Open Division final. Her signature marked a new transition to the college level, where she will continue to compete at a high level while majoring in business administration.
Arguably earning the loudest applause of the day, Cid remarked, “Alyssa needs no introduction.” Alyssa will be missed by her coaches, teammates, and teachers.
