Fall Sports CIF Breakdown

Water Polo qualified for CIF playoffs after a second place finish in league, but lost in the first round of the tournament to St. John Bosco.

Girls’ tennis, after winning league and being moved up to Division 1 CIF this year, battled but lost in the first round of CIF to powerhouse San Clemente.

Girls’ golf made it to CIF team playoffs for the first time in Sage Hill history. Junior Mary Shin and freshman Ashleigh Park also qualified for CIF individual finals and the regional tournament. Shin then continued to CIF State Championships, earning 9th place against some of the best young golfers in the state.

The football team finished with an impressive record of 5 wins and 4 losses this year. Qualifying for the 8-man football CIF tournament in division 1, the boys fought hard but lost in the first round.

After going undefeated in league this year and moving up to division 3 in CIF, the girls’ volleyball team lost in the semifinals, just missing their chance to compete in the finals. The girls then continued onto the state tournament, and battled in a five set loss in the first round.

The boys’ cross country team finished 4th in league and the girls earned 2nd place in league, allowing both teams to run in the CIF prelims of division 5. The girls earned 4th place in division 5 at CIF finals and went on to compete at the State Meet, finishing in 15th place out of the top high school runners in California.
