Water Polo Competes in Costa Mesa Tournament Without Most of the Team
Water polo played some difficult games in the Costa Mesa J.V. Tournament Sept. 12-13 with what freshman Miles Wilson says were problematic misfortunes the team had to overcome.
“I believe we played well considering most of our players were taking the SAT and ACT,” Wilson said.
With most of the upperclassmen gone, it was up to the underclassmen to uphold a good reputation for the school
Wilson explained that they “were very tired because [they] only had about nine people playing, while the other teams would have a full set of about 20.”
Most of the players were playing up to all four of the quarters in order to have enough players to compete.
Wilson, one of the few freshmen on the team, said, “The team is very encouraging, no one has put me down and they have only helped me.”
Before his high school career, Wilson had never played water polo before. The team welcomes him, along with the six other freshmen, with open arms.
