Two Generations on Campus

The Ube filled up hundreds of students and their grandparents for lunch last Tuesday, Nov. 22, . Lunch was served by Flik and tables were set up all around the gym for students to enjoy time with their grandparents at the annual Grandparents’ Day.

Before lunch, grandparents were treated to a casual breakfast, campus tours, a dance performance, a choir performance, some short lessons from Joe DiOrio, Math Dept. chair and Tyler Zarubin, science teacher.

Student ambassadors led the campus tours and had the chance to meet with grandparents from all over the state, country and world. There were grandparents from cities as close as Newport Beach and cities as far away as Jerusalem.

“It was really fun to give tours to many of the grandparents. They were all very friendly and I enjoyed getting to know some of them,” sophomore student ambassador Daniel Fishman said of the event.
Grandparents had the opportunity to meet their grandchildren’s friends, other grandparents and some faculty. As usual, Grandparents’ Day was a huge success.
