The Sage girls’ varsity tennis team finished off the season strong with a win against longtime rival St. Margaret’s Oct. 22 to become undefeated Academy League Champions!.
The team started the highly anticipated match with a 5-1 lead, giving the girls a solid foundation for the next two rounds. Sophomore singles player Catherine Kiani won all three of her games 6-0. Doubles partners Marina Anderson, a senior captain, and Isabella Deckey, a sophomore, also swept all three games, beating the number 1 undefeated St. Margaret’s doubles team 6-0 in the last round.
All of the players contributed to this win and concluded the season 14-4.
