Girls’ Golf Defeats SMES, Shoots for Championship

On Oct. 8, Sage Hill’s girls’ golf team played defeated Saint Margaret’s Episcopal School 276-270.

Varsity player junior Stephanie Cho won medalist with the best-combined score of both of the teams.

Although the team only has four returning players, it has a chance at placing top two in the Academy League with its current record standing at six wins to two losses.

“We definitely are doing much better than we all expected,” team captain senior Mariah Wilson noted. “I definitely didn’t expect us to come this close to first place, especially because it took so much effort to win last year, but the team this year had been very eager to get on the course and play the best that they can.”

The team has two more games this season, one on Oct. 15 at 5:45 p.m. at Strawberry Farms Golf Course against Fairmont Preparatory School and one on Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. against Saddleback Valley Christian School.
