Kickin’ It

Sage Hill is proud to present two girls’ soccer teams, Junior Varsity and Varsity, this winter season. Each team has girls from every grade level, and every player brings their determination and skillset to the field.
Coaches Lynette Swanson and Amy Ray lead the Junior Varsity team. Eight freshmen, five sophomores, two juniors, and one senior compose the team.
“It’s really great to see improvement from last year,” said sophomore captain Ariana Rajaee regarding her teammates. The JV team will have three home games before the end of the month.
The Varsity girls soccer team last won the CIF Championship in 2015. Hopefully, the girls will earn another year to the CIF banner. Coached by Mike Hammond and Megan Cid, the girls started the season with three wins, two ties, and two losses.
“My experience as a senior has been awesome!” said senior captain Maya Jaffe. “Since my freshman year, I have always looked up to the seniors, so I’m excited that I can be a leader on the team this year!” Senior Night took place on January 24, 2019, commemorating all six seniors for their dedication to the team and to Sage Hill athletics.
Sage Hill anticipates a very successful rest of the season from these two teams, so go out and support your teams as they attempt to make a push in CIF. Go Lightning!
