Welcoming Eli Sidman
October 20, 2017
Eli Sidman is a new science teacher this year at Sage Hill School. After attending Bard College in New York from 2008 to 2013, he attained his MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching) degree. His favorite field in science is chemistry, which was his major at his alma mater.
Sidman is originally from New York, but has lived in Philadelphia for the past four years. He started off teaching third graders at Greene Street Friends School and later transitioned to Abington Friends School, just outside Philadelphia. After hearing about Sage Hill, he decided to move to California and start a new adventure on the west coast.
This year he is bringing his enthusiasm and expertise to the Sage community. Currently, he teaches three classes of Introduction to Physics for freshmen and two classes of Biology for upperclassmen. Sidman enjoys the welcoming environment that is demonstrated at Sage.
“Everyone’s really supportive and fun to work with,” he says.
One of Sidman’s favorite aspects of Sage Hill so far is the faculty he collaborates with. “I’ve been making some great new friends here,” he says.
Students at Sage are enjoying his engaging lessons and hands-on learning style. Sage Hill School is lucky to have Sidman join the science department this year.
