Along with soccer balls, footballs, hacky sacks and frisbees, Wilkins Town Square has been refurbished with a foosball table, ring toss and ping pong table. Jon Poffenberger, dean of School Life, proposed this idea to Student Council and received positive feedback.

“The idea of having these out during the school year,” Poffenberger said, “is to provide more activities during lunchtime and free periods, giving students more opportunities to interact.”

During lunch and free blocks, students from all grades play against each other in these friendly competitive game sets. After school, cross country runners and students who ride the school bus set their belongings down for a quick foosball match.

“The ping pong and foosball tables are amazing!” said junior Juan Rodriguez Rivera, “It’s a great way for the students to release stress and have fun.”

Poffenberger also noted that Sage Hill students should expect a pool table and other non-dance activities at this year’s homecoming dance on Nov. 2 from 8-11 p.m.
