New Look, Same Core

For the second time in Sage Hill School’s short 13-year history, Wilkins Town Square was graced with new banners, a reminder of Sage Hill’s foundations, on Sept. 20.
The replaced 7-year old banners were installed in 2006, in turn a successor for the school’s original set. But throughout this progression, Sage’s values have remained strong.
“We believe that applying Sage Hill’s core values is a key part of achieving our school’s mission: We inspire in our students a love of knowledge and the ability to use that knowledge creatively, compassionately and courageously throughout their lives,” said Director of Communications and Marketing Torrey Olins.
These values are significant not only for Sage Hill Students but also the Sage community, particularly Sage Hill founder and original Board of Trustees member Dori Koll, a driving force in the design and installation of all three sets of banners.
To this day, Koll is passionate about the significance of these values and their role in shaping Sage Hill School into the school it is today.
She explains that Sage has only been able to set itself apart from other high schools and develop an encouraging and welcoming environment through these 10 values.
With this third set of banners, Koll is thrilled that Sage Hill School is once again acknowledging the banners’ fundamental place in the Sage community.
“Because the Sage Hill values are at the core of everything we do, we want the banners to look as important as the meaning behind the words that they depict,” said Olins. “I hope that the new set of banners will be yet another reminder to the Sage Hill community and all those who visit our campus that we offer a value based education and that learning how to apply these core values is a key part of the experience at Sage Hill School.”
