Sage Hill held three Sage Hill Internship Program (SHIP) Resume Writing Workshops this year; they were very well attended each time. The first workshop was Oct. 14, the second Oct. 25 and the final workshop Nov. 12.

During the workshops, students received advice from Sage trustee Karina Hamilton and Sage parent Dianna Boulos. Attendees learned how to write a good résumé and how to ensure a successful interview.

“These workshops were set up as a way to get students into internships,” Bonnie Murphy, executive assistant to President Gordon McNeill, explained. “No matter where you go in your life, you have to know how to write a good résumé.”

Because the workshops are now complete, attendees can look forward to turning in a finished résumé to Murphy.

“We [McNeill, Boulos, Hamilton and Murphy] check over the résumés. Students with approved résumés then get a password in February or March to get into the list of internships. It is up to the students to contact the companies,” Murphy said.

“These workshops help prepare Sage students for interviews and writing résumés for any job in the future,” Murphy explained.

Tiffany Chen, a sophomore, concluded that the workshop was helpful. “I knew what to put in a résumé before, but this workshop showed me how to set it up,” Chen said. “It was very informative.”
